I’ve been working towards pressing to handstand for more than a year. And now that I am so close to getting it I realise that it doesn’t really serve any purpose to be able to do it or not. The thing is, I am very excited about it and my ego is jumping with joy because I can see a physical progress to a physical journey. What happens is that the biggest journey is really on the inside; and that one is more difficult to acknowledge with an ego approach. When awareness rests in the stillness of the mind, the secret lessons behind asana begin to flourish. It is so much fun to work with our bodies, but I am more grateful for the inner journey Yoga has taken me to.
